Healing From Within & Capturing It Forever: My Conversation with Amy Cimo
This morning’s coffee date with Amy Cimo, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Whole-Body Functional Wellness Guide, left me feeling deeply inspired. Amy is rooted in eliminating diet culture and weight bias, and showing up with compassion, not judgment.
She shared how her journey, cycling through diets, battling anxiety, and eventually burnout, forced her to pause, listen, and reframe health not as a number, but as a relationship with her body. She now helps women understand that extra weight is often a symptom, not the core issue. Her approach delves into root causes, mineral balance, nervous system regulation, and mindset, enabling her clients to heal, restore, and sustain change from love, rather than pressure.
As a photographer serving busy families, especially mothers juggling endless tasks, I deeply resonate with Amy’s values. Just like she seeks to free women from the rigid rules of dieting, I want my sessions to feel effortless and restorative. My clients already carry so much, the last thing they need is another checklist. I take the guesswork out of the experience, from guiding wardrobe selections to curating timeless wall art, so families can simply show up, breathe, and be present with one another.
Our philosophies align in a beautiful way. Amy nurtures well-being through nutrition and emotional healing, while I nurture it through intentional, memory-preserving photography. We both believe in honoring people’s needs, encouraging rest, clarity, and sustainable care, because true beauty shines brightest when you feel whole.
I envision writing more features on practitioners, lactation specialists, holistic counselors, and more, resources that help my clients nurture their well-being both inside and out. Heavenly Bliss Photography is about more than just creating portraits; it’s about creating experiences that support the heart, mind, and spirit. By partnering with and spotlighting these incredible professionals, I hope to connect my clients with the tools, guidance, and encouragement they need in every season of life.
Because ultimately, portrait sessions shouldn’t just be about looking good, they should be about feeling at peace, feeling seen, and feeling celebrated. Thank you, Amy, for reminding us that healing starts within, and that when we care for ourselves first, every captured moment becomes richer, deeper, and more meaningful.
