Rooted in Light: My Bliss of Baton Rouge Experience & a New Focus for Heavenly Bliss Photography

This past weekend, I had the absolute joy of being part of The Bliss of Baton Rouge event—a vibrant gathering of small business owners, creatives, and wellness leaders all working toward one shared goal: supporting families and building stronger, healthier communities.

A heartfelt thank you to Kaya Anderson, owner of Cradle & Bliss @cradleandbliss, for hosting this beautiful event and curating such an intentional space for women, wellness, and community. Her vision for supporting mothers, families, and small businesses was felt in every detail of The Bliss of Baton Rouge.

From the moment I walked in, I felt the energy of something special. Laughter, hugs, thoughtful conversations—it was more than an event, it was a reminder that healing, beauty, and connection can live side by side. As a photographer, I found myself not just behind the lens but in the heart of a space that truly aligned with my vision.

I met inspiring women, many of them mothers, creators, and wellness advocates, each offering something powerful—from mental health support and birth work to holistic healing and education. It affirmed something I’ve known deep down for a while:

Heavenly Bliss Photography is more than a business—it’s a ministry of memory, connection, and light.

And so, I’m stepping into a new season with deeper intention.

Supporting Purpose-Driven Small Businesses

Heavenly Bliss will be focusing on collaborating with and supporting other small businesses that are rooted in wellness, family care, and community empowerment. Whether you’re a therapist, midwife, educator, holistic practitioner, or a local creative offering your gifts to families—we see you. We want to amplify your work through storytelling, brand photography, and visual content that helps you connect with your audience on a deeper level.

Your mission deserves to be captured with the same care and authenticity you pour into your clients.

Why This Matters

Families thrive when they’re supported by a network of professionals who care. My goal is to not only photograph families but to connect them with resources, services, and spaces where they feel seen, safe, and supported. That’s what The Bliss of Baton Rouge event reminded me—it takes a village, and I’m proud to be part of that village in a creative way.

As I continue my Extraordinary Light campaign—highlighting children with disabilities and those with unique stories—I’m also extending that light to the business owners who serve those same families with grace and grit.

Let’s Rise Together

If you’re a small business or wellness provider who believes in purpose, people, and real impact, let’s talk. I’d love to hear your story and help you share it through powerful, meaningful imagery.

Together, we can shine even brighter.

With heart,
Joy
