Capturing Community Spirit at CACRC’s Back-to-School Electronic Sale
On August 9th, I had the incredible honor of photographing CACRC’s Back-to-School Electronic Sale — an inspiring community event that brought together parents, teachers, and over 16 dedicated vendors, all working toward one goal: helping students step into the school year with confidence and the tools they need to succeed.
The Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council (CACRC) has a mission that extends far beyond distributing affordable computers and electronics. Their work bridges the digital divide by making technology accessible to families who may not otherwise have it. For many students, a CACRC laptop means being able to complete homework at home, access educational resources, and stay connected with teachers and peers. In today’s world, that access can make all the difference in a child’s education and future opportunities.
Events like this fill me with gratitude for my craft — giving me the chance to tell the stories of those whose compassion and impact deserve to be remembered. Photography is more than just images; it’s about preserving moments that matter and highlighting the good happening in our communities. Through my lens, I was able to capture not only the exchange of technology but also the joy, relief, and excitement on the faces of parents and children.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Michael, CACRC’s Executive Director, and Robyn, their Community Outreach Coordinator, for inviting Heavenly Bliss Photography to help document this special day. It was also an honor to be interviewed by Channel 33 – Louisiana First News to share my experience. You can watch the segment here: Students Receive Laptops & Internet.
As we look ahead to a school year filled with learning, laughter, and light, I’m reminded that when communities come together — each contributing their own skills, resources, and heart — the impact ripples far beyond a single event. And I’m grateful that Heavenly Bliss Photography could play a part in telling this story.
